statement: Are avant-garde practices still important to you?
Yes, I remain interested in typewriter art/concrete poetry, particularly in the alternative use of machines/technology to generate art. I would consider my work to be contemporary concrete poetry which utilizes modern computer hardware and software originally intended for business and educational purposes in the freeing act of artistic creation.
The poems in BOA are all produced using MS Publisher and windows Notebook.
They are from a series entitled The Book of Andrews, which is entirely constructed using only the letters of my first name, in an ongoing exploration of the shifts, agglomerations, instabilities, and evanescences of meaning as well as in critique of lyrical poetry in general.
